The Road Home is a documentary exploring mental health, housing insecurity, and homelessness in Washtenaw County, highlighting community efforts and challenges. Local organization face fragmented responses, funding cuts, and limiting support. The films goal is to unit stakeholders, raise awareness, and inspire collective action to ensure compassionate, sustainable solutions.
The Road Home was created as more than a film. It is designed to be an educational and engagement tool that brings together community members, organizations, institutions, and decision-makers.
The documentary is intended to:
Raise awareness of the realties of homelessness, mental health, and housing insecurity.
Create a shared understanding among stakeholders.
Serve as a catalyst for dialogue through screenings and panel discussions.
Support more coordinated and compassionate approaches to addressing these challenges.
Screenings of The Road Home are planned to include facilitated discussions with local leaders, service providers, and people with lived experience to encourage meaningful conversation and collective problem-solving.
